“The [Qoheleth] sought to find delightful words
and to write words of truth correctly.”
~ Ecclesiastes 12:10
**קֹהֶלֶת Qoheleth (875a); from the same as 6951; “a collector (of sentences),” “a preacher,” a son of David.

A very wise man once said that, “The words of wise men are like goads, and masters of these collections are like well-driven nails.” A “goad” is a sharp, spear shaped object used to prod cattle or a mule so the animal will keep plowing or moving. Because I am so often like a stubborn mule who needs a good Holy Spirit led prodding, for many years I have collected words of wisdom, timeless articles of faith and theology, and motivating quotes to encourage my own spiritual growth and edification. I am an avid reader, so these treasures have come from a wide variety of sources, theological and devotional books, surfing the web, emails from friends, bumper stickers, t-shirts, and chance articles from magazines in waiting rooms! Yes, I am a true qoheleth — “a collector (of sentences)”!
Recently, it occurred to me that others might benefit from this trove of “well driven nails”. Perhaps they will inspire you as they have me, “to find delightful words and to write words of truth correctly”, and to put your own thoughts down on paper.
It is my hope that this will be the “Pinterest” of spiritually inspirational blogs, and that we will all be edified as we ponder and search out God’s truth on matters under the sun!
